GAY PARTY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 21st, 2001.....REVIEW

The party review will be posted shortly.

GAY PARTY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 7th, 2001.....REVIEW

On reaching the venue for this party, one only saw a sheer mass of men, must be numbering at least 200 plus, a lot of them there for the first time.  It was a high just being there especially since the CQ factor was amongst the best as compared to other parties.  Drag Queens were in abundance as were cute boys and handsome men. It certainly was a promising start to what could hopefully be billed as the party of the year.  But then things began to take a queer turn.  First the drinks ran out fairly early on and one was only left with one choice, it was a take it or leave it situation and most were forced to take the leave it route.  So, a lot of us were left high and dry, since, as the old Chinese philosopher Hoo-Choo-Me wrote eons ago, alcohol does a party make.  Added to this was the collapse of the evenings entertainment which started off on a good note with a great performance by the dancing duo but then again, this was pretty much it since after this it was downhill all the way.  The music system simply collapsed with a great shudder as if never to be heard from again and in the interim, the MC (Mistress of Ceremonies for the uninitiated) was heard screaming and wailing loudly warning everyone that the show would be resumed in a few minutes.  Hearing this, many were seen frantically scattering towards the bar only to find even more shrieking and horrific wailing emanating from those deprived souls who couldn't get a drink since there wasn't any left!  Good organisation this certainly did not make.  Finally though the Gods decided to help the organisers out of this ever increasing cacophony caused by the cumulative screaming by the masses and finally, the music system leapt out of it's trance and started to belt out some noise which essentially meant that the show could go on.  The dancers emerged from behind the curtains, slightly apprehensive and expecting the worst but were pleasantly surprised by the gamely audience who cheered lustily every time an article of clothing was removed.  The show stopper was Mr. Delhi himself with an amazingly beautiful body who performed an erotic number with Mr. D of the Dancing Duo.  The Moll with the Doll sequence was mercifully brief and the dance floor was once again packed immediately after the show ended.  Soon there were all sorts of men (?) boogying away though the music did leave much to be desired.  One bustier and panty clad pretend Queen was desperately trying to bare all and finally managed to get her panties down to her ankles which incidentally was not a pretty sight.  Mercifully though, better sense prevailed and the same were pulled up but the butt was left hanging out.  Very tempting.....NOT!

The saving grace of the party was the good location and the sheer number of people who turned up but am sure that most were expecting a lot more.  The music needed a lot of improvement and the food was mediocre though the fabric hanging around the entrance did look nice.

GAY NIGHT ON THURSDAY, MAY 3rd, 2001 AT MIRAGE, SURYA HOTEL

On all Thursdays, the Mirage Discotheque at the Surya Hotel in New Friends Colony has started a Gay and Lesbian Night.  Last Thursday was rocking with some great music, about 75 boys just abandoning themselves to the rhythm and a great atmosphere.  This place is set to become the most happening spot in Delhi for Gay Men and Women on Thursday nights.

PRICE: Rs. 300 per head which entitles one to ONE drink at the bar.

GAY PARTY ON FRIDAY, MARCH 9th, 2001 .....REVIEW

It could definitely have been a fun party but for the lack of enough attendance and the fact that the CQ was on the lower side.  There were about 90 men who stayed on bravely till about 3 a.m.  The music was good, kept most of us on the dance floor, the booze did not run out and the shaadi type food was, well, edible.

GAY PARTY ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2001.....REVIEW

Don't really know if there was 'Love in the air' but certainly there was a lot of 'Lust in the air'.  And not just in the air, it was also present on the dance floor, in all the shady corners and of course, behind most of the bushes and secluded places.  So all-pervading was it that most of the 150 plus hot hunky men were seen caught in it's grip and were slaves to that extremely volatile emotion.  Even though it was a weekday, most people stayed on till 4 in the morning and even when I left at around 3:30 a.m. (debauchery at it's very best), the dance floor was rocking particularly when the slow numbers came on because then the dance floor was rolling, literally and figuratively (what with many of the couples just rolling along in a vice like grip coupled with a frenzied exchanging of tonsils).  It certainly was a fun party, the booze lasted till the very end and there was food even though the DJ kept screaming his lungs out trying to dissuade anyone from venturing near the food area because he wanted everyone to dance to his music.
